My Journey as a Reiki Channeler

REIKI HEALING is non-invasive, completely benign “Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing” (www.reiki.org). It is administered with the hands of the healer laid on or near the (about 2-4 inches away) the body of the sick person/client whose body lies flat either on his/her back or while in a supine position, one at a time. The session lasts for at least 45 minutes when conducted by a single healer.

“Reiki” can be translated as “Divine Energy” or the “Universal Force.”  Reiki is said to be unique compared to other energy healing that I am told of in that it does not deplete the channeler of healing (or “healer”) since the energy for healing comes from the “Divine Source” and not from the individual instrumental to the healing.  In  Reiki, we draw from the bounty of energy constantly available in the Universe.  Hence, a Reiki healer can actually conduct a series of healing without feeling drained; rather, based on personal experience can empower or soothe or increase the energy of the client.  It is a blissful experience for me; personally, although each client’s physiological reactions vary after the healing session.  While a state of peace and well-being is immediately achieved after treatment; at times, ver mild flu-like symptoms are experienced by the client some days after.  Sometimes, the pain or issues whch are the target for healing, resurfaces or peaks days after a healing session; to my understanding , such comes around to rid the person of the infliction or clear the persons of body “toxins” physiologically found or emotionally rooted.

It is noteworthy and beneficial to be constantly reminded in the Reiki practice, or in day-to-day life, that healing is a life process as stresses and troubles that become resultant to illnesses are part of life.  Therefore, not a single existing human being or thing is exempted from the need or even from the benefit of healing.

I became a Reiki healer at a time when I did not will for myself to become one. I happened to have been dragged to attend a Reiki attunement workshop in 2009 which happened to have transformed me significantly after the designated 21-day cleansing period.  Reiki led me back to my way, opened my eyes, heart and mind, giving me clarity of vision to act according to my purpose in life – and that is to be of service to my brothers and sisters, wherever the need is, and whatever I have to offer.  My life and my discovery of my purpose in life is God’s gift to me.  My life and the rediscovery of my purpose in life path was Reiki’s present to me.
