The
Peacecamp Project:
A
BRIEF OVERVIEW
The
concept of a "camp" is the convergence of a definite
set of individuals with basic points of commonality and
diversity, who stay together in a definite territory to
undertake a focused collective activity
where they would synergize their respective experiences and
ideas, thus mutually enriching one another through a definite
set of practical activities, lectures and
discussions.
A
peace camp is one such convergence over a definite
stretch of time and area of locality where the focused theme or
topic is peace advocacy and/or peace education.

The
Peacecamp-Masbate project is the planned gathering of over a
hundred people, mostly senior students of a public high school
(the Temestocles A. Merioles Sr. Memorial High School) in
Armenia town near Masbate City, capital of Masbate
province.
It
will span three successive days (27th to 29th, inclusive) during
the last week of October 2010 in their own campus, with varied
activities pre-programmed to help them learn and share, in a
creative way, about the matter of peace-building within
themselves, within their families and friendship circles, and
within their respective and combined local communities, taking
into account their attainment of harmony with the natural
environment.
It
was conceptualized and organized by a Peacecamp
core team of artistic peace educators and advocates, led by a
Masbateņa healer who channels Divine cosmic energy .
